Freecache from the Internet Archive aims to bring easy to use distributed web caching to everyone. If you've a file that you think will be popular, but far too popular for your isp's bandwidth limits, you can just serve it as http://freecache.org/http://your.site/yourfile instead of the traditional http://your.site/yourfile and Freecache will do all the heavy lifting for you. Plus your users get the advantage of swiftly pulling the file from a nearby cache rather than it creeping off your overloaded webserver.

Macromedia does not support connectors for ColdFusion 5 and Apache 2.x.x, however since they released the source code for mod_coldfusion, a couple of developers in the community have made the necessary modifications themselves.

Mozilla browsers and Google Web Accelerator support a feature called link prefetching, which allows a web page to tell the browser to prefetch a url in the backgroung if it is idle.
http:/ / www.coralcdn.org/
Coral is peer-to-peer content distribution network. It allows a user to run a web site that offers high performance and meets huge demand, all for the price of a $50/month cable modem. Sites that volunteer to run Coral automatically replicate content as a side effect of users accessing it. Publishing through Coral is as simple as appending a short string to the hostname of objects' URLs; a peer-to-peer DNS layer transparently redirects browsers to participating cache nodes, which in turn cooperate to minimize load on the source web server.

We provide static DNS services as well as many advanced services such as Dynamic DNS resolution, Secondary service, AXFR service, and domain2web redirection. DNS is often compared to the analog equivalent of the White Pages. If this is the case, why do people pay for DNS hosting when their phone number is listed in the white pages for free? We feel that DNS should be free for both listings and lookups, not simply the latter.

IISShield is an IIS ISAPI Filter preventing any known and unknown attacks from disrupting IIS. The preventive approach of IISShield is an added value preventing IIS from even trying to interpret requests trying to break-in. (Comparison chart has it listed as better than Microsoft URLScan.)

Hot fixes are quick, downloadable code fixes to specific issues. From time to time, Macromedia may add additional hot fixes to this page when problematic issues are identified and testing of the hot fix is completed. Hot fixes are meant to be interim solutions to issues that will be included in an upcoming Updater or product release.
http:/ / www.troxo.com/ products/ iispassword/
IISPassword uses Basic HTTP Authentication for password protecting web sites on IIS, just like htaccess works on Apache. That makes your password protected Apache web site compatible with IIS, and vice versa. No longer is there a need for system user accounts and complex access permissions for maintaining a secure, password protected web site. (Authenticated users are not available as CGI variables and you cannot define individual error pages on a per-website basis... but other than that, it's extremely fast and admin/script friendly.)
